Logo-Reforming Technical Cooperation for Capacity Development

Format and content of the Studies

The studies are limited to 30 pages of text plus annexes and should include:

Executive summary (maximum 2 pages):

  • Synthesize purpose, approach and main conclusions/recommendations in plain language;
  • Capture all elements that one would need to write an interesting article.

Introduction and background (maximum 4 pages):

  • spell out the methodology and process used and explain/introduce any other factors as pertinent.

Evidence, Analysis Arguments (maximum 20 pages):

  • Review relevant work and summarize best current thinking, including academic (South and North);
  • Solidly substantiate deductions with data and other evidence, including case examples;
  • Use experiences and lessons from all regions and comment on regional differences;
  • Identify theoretical and empirical gaps that cannot be satisfactorily covered but should be addressed in future.

Conclusions (maximum 4 pages):

  • Capture the main findings of the study and draw conclusions for the future of Technical Cooperation.

Annexes:

  • Present supporting and non-essential but relevant materials as pertinent;
  • List relevant resources (bibliography, acronyms, websites, relevant processes and fora;
  • Summarize links to other topics and exchange with other project study teams and processes;
  • Present key people and institutions involved in the study, including contact information.
